Women’s Justice and Empowerment Celebrated on Rajiv Gandhi’s Birth Anniversary

Shimla, August 20 — The All India Mahila Congress organized a “Nari Nyaya Samman” (Women’s Justice Honor) program at the Pradesh Congress Headquarters, Rajiv Bhavan, to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh honored women leaders of the Mahila Congress with certificates of appreciation.

Pratibha Singh praised the women for their significant contributions to both their households and the party’s work, as well as their dedication to social service. She highlighted that the event was organized on Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary to honor his legacy of empowering women, particularly by ensuring their political participation through 50% reservation in Panchayats. She emphasized that the “Nari Nyaya Samman” is a crucial step towards women’s empowerment by the Congress party.

The event saw the presence of several prominent women, including Vrinda Singh, Shanta Rajta, Satya Verma, Pushpa Shobhta, and Shashi Thakur, along with District Mahila Congress President Vinita Verma. The honored women included Rekha, Dolma, Kanta Sharma, Prabha Sharma, Veena Vij, Kamlesh Thakur, Heera Dasi, Krishna Jaryal, Vinita, Sumitra, Prabha Verma, Vimla, Promila Bhardwaj, Meera Negi, Meenakshi, Ankita Chauhan, Geetanjali Thakur, Uma Modariyal, Babli, and Lokeshwari, who were all awarded certificates of recognition.
