Women voters outnumber men in HP’s Hamirpur

Hamirpur, Oct 15 : Women will once again going to play a significant role in the HP Vidhan Sabha elections as far as the Hamirpur district is concerned.
Women outnumber men in the electoral rolls that were released to the media by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Debasweta Banik here Saturday.
She said there were 207139 female and 200439 male voters in the district. Women are in the majority in all five assembly segments of the district and will cast their votes at 521 polling stations across the district.
She said the number of critical polling stations in the district was 11 and that of vulnerable polling stations 69.
Hamirpur goes to polling on November 12th along with other parts of the state.
She said there were ten Model polling stations in the district, two in each assembly constituency.
The Deputy Commissioner said carrying arms and ammunition have been banned keeping in view the elections.
She said all the five Sub-divisional Magistrates posted at Hamirpur, Nadaun, Sujanpur, Badsar, and Bhoranj had been designated as Assistant Returning officers and they would conduct the elections process right from its starting till the end.
Counting of votes would be held at all the five sub-divisional headquarters located at Hamirpur, Nadaun, Bhoranj, Sujanpur, and Badsar.
The District Election Officer said the code of conduct for the elections had been enforced fully and all the Banners and hoardings were being removed by Saturday evening.
