Woman Accuses Mandi Youth of Sexual Exploitation Under Marriage Pretext

Bilasipur, Feb 13: A divorced woman from Hamirpur has accused a youth from Mandi of sexually exploiting her under the pretext of marriage. The woman claims that her acquaintance with the youth began four years ago through Facebook. After several phone conversations, the two discussed marriage, informing their families. However, the youth’s mother refused the marriage proposal.

In July 2024, the youth invited her to meet at Jahu Mela and later at a hotel in Ghumarwin, where they had further interactions. On another occasion, the youth introduced her to a friend at a store and even exchanged wedding garlands. After that, the youth pressured her to have physical relations, threatening to not marry her if she refused.

The woman reported that the youth continued to exploit her physically in various locations, including Shimla, Solan, and Hamirpur, but later stopped answering calls and refused to marry her.

The Bilasipur Police have registered a case and the investigation is ongoing.
