Dharamshala/Shahpur, November 3:

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that the Winter Session of the Vidhan Sabha at Tapovan, Dharamshala, is likely to be held in the last week of November this year. The decision aims to avoid inconvenience to tourists and tourism businesses during the peak tourism season in December.

Speaking as the Chief Guest at the Federation Cup Classic & Equipped Powerlifting Championship 2025 in Rait on Monday, he said the session will have eight sittings, making it the longest winter session ever held in Tapovan.

Pathania emphasized that the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is among the most efficient legislative institutions in the country, known for constructive debates and strong democratic traditions.

He highlighted that positive dialogue and well-reasoned arguments strengthen both individuals and institutions, helping achieve economic and social progress. Referring to the state’s rich democratic heritage, he noted that the first Presiding Officers’ Conference in 1925 was held in Shimla.

He proudly stated that Himachal Pradesh has the country’s first paperless Assembly, and that efforts are ongoing to enhance legislative efficiency and transparency, especially by ensuring young MLAs have adequate opportunities to contribute.
