Dharamshala, Jan. 29 – Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government would provide every possible assistance to representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, keeping in view the importance of their role, so that better facilities are provided to the people at the village level.
He was interacting with the newly elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Dharamshala, today. While congratulating the newly elected representatives, he said that people have given full support to the people associated with BJP’s ideology in the elections of Panchayati Raj and Municipal Bodies.
He said that the state government is committed to rural development and has implemented several programs and schemes for the upliftment of the poor and needy, due to which people have supported the people associated with the ideology of BJP in the Panchayati Raj elections.
Chief Minister said that Rs. 850 crores have been provided in the year 2018-19 and 2019-20 by the 14th Finance Commission and Rs. 214 crore have been provided on the recommendation of the 15th Finance Commission for various development works. He said that the e-panchayat project had been implemented in all panchayats under which the accounts of all the schemes are being prepared through software. This would enhance the efficiency and transparency in the working of the panchayats.
He said that the present State Government has also enhanced the honorarium of the representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions. Work is also being done in a phased manner for the construction of Lok Seva Kendra in Panchayat Ghar so that people can get better facilities.
