Webinar on “The Science of Spirituality” organised at Shoolini Univ

Solan, May 30 – Shoolini University’s Yogananda Centre for Theology (YCT) organised the third webinar on ‘The Science of Spirituality’ series of webinars in which key speakers for the webinar were Dr. I.V Basavaraddi Director, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga ((MDNIY Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, and Dr. Balaganpathi Deverkonda, Prof. and Head of Department, Philosophy, University of Delhi.

Prof. P.K. Khosla the Chancellor Shoolini University and Patron YCT presented the welcome note and said Yoga and spirituality are the two key elements to keep ourselves safe in the current situation.

Dr. I.V. Basavaraddi delivered his lecture on the topic science of the soul. He said spirituality is the systematic knowledge of soul and self, and to experience the ‘Self’ there are different methods in Yoga like dhyana. With the help of Dhyana and meditation, we can achieve the point to stable our minds and overcome many difficulties. Prof I.V also shared that try to observe your mind because it has dual nature. If it comes in contact with senses it goes out but we need to have an oriented mind to live a peaceful and healthy life. Through dhyana and some other scientific techniques like Kriya yoga or hatha yoga, we can change our moving mind to a concentrated mind.

Prof. Balaganpathi Deverkonda , Professor and Head of Department, Philosophy, University of Delhi, delivered his lecture on Spirituality and education and said the spirituality must be added as a part of education because it is relevant to the system of education once explained in systematic way this will help them to know their true Self. He also guided students to must add spirituality in their daily routine because through this they can discover what actually they are, what their inner nature is, and use their potential to it’s fullest.

Prof. Deverkonda in his concluded remarks said that the purpose of the general education system is to take knowledge for a better life but adding spirituality in education will help students to know about their actual potential and definitely leads to a holistic concept of knowledge.

Mr. Vivek Atray Chairman YCT gave the vote of thanks. The event was moderated by Dr. Prerna Bhardwaj along with Dr. Supriya Assistant Prof. from Management Sciences, Dr. Lalit Sharma Assistant Prof. from Pharmaceutical Science.
