Shimla, June 27: Residents of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, faced water shortage issues in recent days due to prolonged absence of rainfall. However, with recent showers, the water supply situation has gradually normalized, bringing relief to the public.

The Shimla Municipal Corporation is now ensuring water availability to the city’s residents every third day. This has alleviated significant hardships that people were facing due to the water scarcity in recent days.

Mayor Uma Kaushal of Shimla Municipal Corporation mentioned that post the rainfall, the water supply has returned to normalcy. The corporation is striving to ensure water reaches every locality every third day.

She noted that during heavy rains, pipe blockages due to silt also hinder water supply efforts. The Shimla Municipal Corporation is fully prepared to tackle these challenges and aims to provide regular water supply to prevent inconvenience to the residents.
