Waqf Board Powers Altered for Votes by Congress: Dr. Rajeev Bindal

1 min read

Sirmaur, January 24, 2025: BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal, addressing the Constitution Pride Campaign in Rajgarh, accused Congress of exploiting constitutional amendments for political gains. He claimed Congress altered the Constitution 75 times, prioritizing party interests over national welfare.

Dr. Bindal emphasized Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of equality and criticized Congress for violating it by providing religion-based reservations and manipulating constitutional provisions. He lauded the BJP’s recent constitutional amendments, such as the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, and the implementation of laws against triple talaq, asserting they align with Ambedkar’s ideals.

He condemned Congress for using the Waqf Board’s powers as a vote-bank strategy and recalled the imposition of Emergency by Indira Gandhi as an attack on democracy. He further criticized the addition of “secular” and “socialist” terms to the Constitution without parliamentary discussion.

The Constitution Pride Campaign is being conducted across 17 organizational districts in Himachal Pradesh, with the Sirmaur district program marking its conclusion. BJP State Media In-Charge Karn Nanda shared these details.
