Vimal Negi Case: HPPCL Director (Electrical) Desh Raj Suspended

Shimla, March 19 – In a major development in the Vimal Negi case, the Himachal Pradesh government has suspended Desh Raj, Director (Electrical), Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (HPPCL) amid ongoing investigations.
The move follows allegations that Negi, the General Manager of HPPCL, was under pressure at work before his tragic death. The issue has sparked debates in the Vidhan Sabha, media, and among employees.
Earlier, the government had ordered an in-depth inquiry led by Shri Onkar Sharma, ACS (Home/Revenue), who has been directed to submit a report within 15 days. Additionally, HPPCL MD Harikesh Meena was removed from duty, and Rakesh Prajapati, IAS, was appointed as the new MD.
