Vikramaditya briefs about the damages to Chairman NHAI

Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh met Santosh Kumar Yadav Chairman, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at New Delhi today. The Minister apprised him about the havoc wreaked by flash floods and cloudbursts triggered by incessant rains to the National Highways (NHs) across the state and urged for allocation of funds to reconstruct the damaged roads and bridges as per the estimates submitted to NHAI authorities, adding that more such estimates were being submitted. He urged for personal intervention in allocation of funds especially for estimates submitted for the Left Bank of River Beas, Manali, the Chakki-Pathankot Bridge and others on Manali-Mandi NH.

He requested for speedy restoration and repair of Manali-Mandi NH, the Nalagarh Bridge besides other bridges and roads of State PWD which link the National Highways particularly on Manali-Mandi-Swarghat road NH as per estimates submitted besides the bridges at Pandoh, Bhuntar, Kullu, Raison, Katrain and near Manali area. He said that Chakki-Pathankot bridge should be restored for vehicles soon and the repair work should be expedited.

Sh. Yadav assured the PWD Minister for releasing funds for repair and restoration of roads in the State at the earliest and stated that a central team has been sent to Himachal to assess the losses. .

Vikramaditya Singh also met Anurag Jain, Secretary MoRTH and informed that DPRs have been prepared under Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for widening and strengthening of Rangas-Barsar road via Mehre, upgradation of Ner Chowk-Ratti Kalkhar road, Chaila-Neripul-Yashwantpur-Ochghat-Kumarhatti road, Tikkar- Jarol-Gahan-Nankhari-Kamadi road, improvement and strengthening of Chail-Gohar-Pandoh road, Shahpur-Sihunta-Chowari road and will be submitted to the Ministry soon.
