Shimla, January 18

Thousands of unemployed youth in the state have sent a letter to President Draupadi Murmu expressing their discontent with the delay in recruitment in Himachal Pradesh. On January 18, youth associated with various recruitments will gather in Shimla to protest against the government. The unemployed youth claim that when the state government came to power, it promised to provide one lakh jobs to the youth in the state. However, instead of fulfilling this promise, the situation in the state has worsened.

Over the past year, no recruitments have taken place in Himachal Pradesh, and the state government remains silent on the matter. The youth are frustrated with the lack of action or recruitment initiatives from the state government, leading to a continuous rise in unemployment in Himachal Pradesh. The letter to the President accuses the state government of being authoritarian and failing to address the concerns of the unemployed youth.

The unemployed youth express their dissatisfaction, pointing out that nearly 4000 recruitments in the state are pending and no hiring has been provided for these positions. No exams have been conducted by the government since November 2022 until now. The frustrated youth see no interest or effort from the government to address the issue, leading to a surge in unemployment in Himachal Pradesh.

The letter calls for immediate action and resignation of the current government, emphasizing the mental distress faced by the youth. The unemployed youth appeal to the President to take the matter seriously and urge the central government to intervene in this critical issue. They warn that if the concerns of the youth are not addressed promptly, the upcoming Lok Sabha elections might witness a decline in youth participation and support for the ruling government.
