Legal action has been initiated against the operators and management of the center, along with one local youth involved.
The raid on the unauthorized center was led by DSP Haroli, Mohan Rawat. Those rescued from the rehabilitation center have been handed over to their respective families. The IPC has registered a case against several individuals, including the administrators and management, on charges of fraud in the name of de-addiction, under various sections.
It is alleged that the center charged a fee of ₹20,000 per person for addiction treatment. The local police had been receiving continuous complaints about the center’s activities. After a thorough investigation, the police launched a raid on the facility. The authorities have stressed that unauthorized institutions of this nature cannot be tolerated.
