Una DC Suspends Five Mining Units for Violating Rules

In an effort to tackle illegal and unscientific mining, Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal carried out a surprise inspection of various mining sites in the district. As a result, five mining leases were suspended for three months due to violations of mining rules and scientific procedures. The suspended units include Lakhwinder Singh Unit 3 (Gondpur Bulla), Lakhwinder Singh Unit 1 (Polian), Mahadev Stone Crusher (Nangal Khurd), SS Stone Crusher (Haleran Bilna), and Building Stretch Crushing Zone (Pubowal).

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the district’s natural resources must be conserved and warned that unscientific mining harms both the environment and local communities. He further urged the public to report any illegal mining activities to authorities to help curb such practices.
