Una: Brave Woman Thwarts Robbery Attempt

Una, Sept. 06 –  In an act of sheer bravery, a woman living in the Saloh village of the Una district thwarted an attempted robbery by four cunning individuals who had created a fake religious gathering on Wednesday. Despite their intrusion into her home, she managed to prevent the robbery single-handedly. The owner of the house where the robbery attempt occurred was found unconscious.

The incident unfolded during a nine-day religious congregation taking place throughout the district. Various groups visited homes to sing devotional songs in praise of deities. On Wednesday, near her residence, a woman noticed the presence of around four individuals who were part of one such group. Suspecting their intentions, she vigilantly monitored their activities.

As she witnessed three people outside, one person from the group was attempting to take away some belongings from inside the house. The woman, sensing something amiss, immediately alerted her neighbor about the situation and rushed to confront the intruders. She confronted the person inside the house and raised an alarm.

In a courageous act, the woman grappled with the intruder, forcing him to retreat. Hearing the commotion, the other three would-be robbers fled the scene. The owner of the house, who had lost consciousness earlier during the incident, regained consciousness later.

Local residents, once informed of the situation, initiated a search for the culprits. They successfully apprehended two of the suspects in the Palakwah village near Saloh and promptly reported the incident to the village council. Anita Kumari, the head of the Saloh village council, mentioned that the locals immediately alerted the authorities.

The police arrived at the scene, took custody of the two suspects, and initiated an investigation into the matter. The bravery displayed by the woman and the swift response of the local residents played a crucial role in preventing the robbery and assisting the police in capturing two of the culprits involved in this incident.
