Umang Foundation Plants Trees Under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Campaign Led by Differently-Abled Youth

Shimla, July 27, 2025 – Umang Foundation, in collaboration with Orchid Hotel, carried out a tree plantation drive under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” led by differently-abled youth.

The event was inaugurated by visually impaired Assistant Professor and Election Commission brand ambassador Muskan Negi and wheelchair-user Junior Office Assistant & graphic designer Mukul Jishtu. The drive was presided over by local councillor Narendra Thakur.

Over 100 saplings of deodar, ban, moharu, jamun, and daadhu were planted at Sanjay Van near Jwala Mata Temple in Bhattakufar as a tribute to mothers and Mother Earth. Draupadi Verma from the Forest Department extended special support.

Orchid Hotel staff, including GM Mahendra Rawat, Satish Chauhan, Sudarshan Thakur, Dharmendra Thakur, Kamlesh Kumar, Purn Prakash, Prakash Chand, and Pawan Kumar, actively participated.

Trustee and coordinator Vinod Yogacharya stated that the foundation has been conducting such drives for 15 years and has planted thousands of saplings in and around Shimla. Umang Foundation president Prof. Ajai Srivastava, along with Abhishek Bhagra, Rita Thakur, Neha Chauhan, Vandana, Raman, Gopal Thakur, and Vishal Thakur also took part in the plantation.
