Ultrasound Machine and Dialysis Facility Soon at Shahpur Civil Hospital: Keval Singh Pathania

Shahpur, March 3: A meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti was held at Civil Hospital Shahpur on Monday evening, attended by Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Keval Singh Pathania.
During the meeting, it was informed that by January 2026, a total of 1,50,663 patients had registered at the hospital, compared to 1,41,709 during 2024–25. The OPD figures for February and March 2026 are yet to be included. Similarly, 87,032 laboratory tests have been conducted so far, compared to 65,490 last year, reflecting a steady rise in healthcare services.
Financial details of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti revealed that ₹5,31,909 was available as balance on April 1, 2025. Between April 1, 2025 and January 31, 2026, the committee received ₹60,02,218 and spent ₹19,75,425. For the upcoming financial year, an estimated income of ₹50,39,797 is projected, with a likely total balance of ₹96,16,499. A proposal was placed to spend ₹59,05,000 on improving patient facilities.
Addressing the gathering, Pathania announced that the new hospital building will soon be completed and dedicated to the public. He further declared that an ultrasound machine will be installed shortly and dialysis services will also begin at the hospital, ensuring improved healthcare access for residents closer to home.
He said the increasing OPD numbers indicate strengthening of the healthcare system despite limited resources and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for providing adequate funds. The MLA also appreciated the efforts of doctors and paramedical staff and congratulated BMO Shahpur Dr. Kavita Thakur and her team.
During the meeting, doctors and paramedical staff were honored with certificates for their commendable work. BMO Dr. Kavita Thakur briefed the committee about hospital activities and informed that most diagnostic test charges will remain unchanged, with only minor revisions proposed in some cases.
