Two Congress and one BJP candidates won in bye-elections of three Assembly Constituencies
1 min readA spokesperson of Election department stated here today that in the bye-polls held for the three assembly constituencies in the State, two seats viz: Dehra and Nalagarh Assembly Constituencies (AC) were bagged by the candidates from Indian National Congress (INC) while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate was declared winner from the Hamirpur AC.
Dehra AC
In Dehra AC Hoshyar Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost to Kamlesh Thakur of Indian National Congress (INC) by a margin of 9399 votes. Hoshyar Singh secured 23338 votes in comparison to INC candidate Kamlesh Thakur who bagged 32737 votes. Independent candidates Sulekha Chaudhary got 171 votes while Arun Ankesh Syal got 67 votes followed by 43 votes to Advocate Sanjay Sharma while 150 people preferred NOTA.
Hamirpur AC
Ashish Sharma of BJP defeated his nearest rival of INC by 1571 votes. Ashish Sharma got 27041 votes in comparison to his rival Dr. Pushpinder Verma of INC who got 25470 votes in a tight finish. Independent candidate Nand Lal Sharma could only get 74 votes whereas 198 people chose NOTA.
Nalagarh AC
Hardeep Singh Bawa of INC got 34608 votes while his nearest rival from BJP, K.L. Thakur had to rest with 25618 votes. Independent Candidate Harpreet Singh Saini secured 13025 votes finishing third. Kishori Lal Sharma of Swabhiman Party got 492 votes whereas another Independent candidate Vijay Singh got 353 votes. 446 people (the highest amongst other two ACs) preferred NOTA.
