Sirmaur, Aug 03 – A truck filled with apples overturned on National Highway 907A near Nahan Kumarhatti. The truck (HP63B-9596) lost control and spilled apple crates into the ravine, fortunately, the driver is safe. Due to a landslide on Tuesday night, the Shimla-Chandigarh Fourlane near the nuclear area was completely closed, resulting in all traffic being diverted via Nahan. Throughout Wednesday, there was a long traffic jam in the city due to the noise caused by the trucks. Meanwhile, at night, a truck loaded with apples from Sanj in Kullu district and headed towards Jaipur overturned near a sharp turn at Dungaghat. However, this is not the first incident of a truck overturning at the same location. A few years ago, a similar incident occurred with an apple truck at the same spot.

Sirmaur Police have deployed additional personnel to handle the traffic jam. The traffic in Nahan city is gradually being released to control the situation. Narendra Tomar, the President of the Road Safety Club, also assisted the police with his team to manage the traffic until late at night.

Buses and other vehicles traveling from Shimla to Delhi, Chandigarh, Haridwar, and other states are being diverted through Nahan. After that, the situation returned to normal on Sunday. Trucks are being slowly allowed to pass through the city after being stopped 5 kilometers before reaching the city.

DSP Headquarters Meenakshi Shah informed that additional personnel have been deployed in Nahan, Kanshiwala, and Kala Amb to control the traffic.
