Tree Plantation Drive Held by District Legal Services Authority to Promote Environmental Awareness

1 min read

Solan, July 25 — A tree plantation and awareness campaign was organised today in Kothon, Solan, by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with the Forest Department. Addressing the gathering, District and Sessions Judge Dr. Arvind Malhotra emphasized that tree plantation is essential for maintaining a clean environment and ensuring the safety of the planet. He highlighted that mere plantation is not enough—proper care, akin to nurturing a child, is vital for saplings to grow into healthy trees.

During the drive, nearly 80 saplings of fruit-bearing, shade-giving, and medicinal plants such as harad, baheda, amla, jamun, deodar, and dadu were planted. Dr. H.K. Gupta, DFO Solan, stressed the importance of public participation in afforestation and protecting forest wealth.

The event also saw participation from Additional District & Sessions Judge Abhay Mandyal, Fast Track Court Judge Kanika Chawla, CJM Divya Jyoti Patyal, DLSA Secretary Akanksha Dogra, ACJMs Sonal Sharma and R. Mehul Sharma.
