Mandi, January 2: While the nationwide strike by truck and bus operators against the amended traffic rules hasn’t significantly impacted Mandi district so far, its prolonged duration could affect the general public. As of now, there is a rush of vehicles at petrol and diesel stations in Mandi, anticipating fuel shortages by Tuesday evening, as per the current stock levels.
The present scenario has led to long queues at refilling stations. People are facing inconvenience as there is a limited supply of fuel. Refilling stations are currently providing fuel in limited quantities to manage the available stock. People are taking precautions, and some have parked their vehicles at the filling stations overnight to refill as soon as the pumps open.
However, the situation might worsen if the strike persists, affecting not only vehicle owners but also tourists and commuters. Mandi residents have expressed concerns about fuel shortages affecting daily life, urging the government to address the issue promptly.
