Transparency in Property Registration: Shimla DC Directs Officials

Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, chaired a crucial review meeting on stock holding and property registration, addressing issues like stamp duty, e-stamping, e-challan, e-registration, and NGDRS. The meeting emphasized simplifying processes to ensure smooth property registration and reduce public inconvenience.

Highlighting the importance of transparency, Kashyap instructed Assistant Registrars to strictly adhere to the Income Tax Act during registrations, ensuring fair revenue management. He assured that citizens would face minimal hurdles in property dealings, with new measures aimed at fostering trust and efficiency.

Fraud Alert for Pensioners
District Treasury Officer Jagdish Sharma raised concerns over increasing fraudulent calls targeting pensioners. He clarified that no official calls or OTP requirements exist for pension resumption and urged citizens to stay vigilant against such scams.

**Modernizing Revenue Operations**
The meeting also reviewed the utilization of e-governance funds, with Kashyap directing officials to maximize the benefits for streamlining public services.

The session was attended by key officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma, ADM Protocol Jyoti Rana, SDM Shimla Urban Bhanu Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Gopal Chand Sharma, and representatives from the Stock Holding Corporation.
