Training Programme on “Safe Hill Area development”

Shimla, June 15 – The three day training programme on Safe Hill Area development inargurated at SAMETI, Mashobra on 5^th June 2022. The Programme was inaugurated by Sh. Lalit Jain, IAS Director (Deptt. of Enviro. Sci & Technology)& member secretary HIMCOSTE Shimla.

The Programme is organised by HIMCOSTE in collaboration of National Institute of Disaster Management NIDM, GOI. The training programme would provide opportunities for local administrators to improve disaster preparedness measures, and to make awareness and capacity building as the areas to stay focused , to reduce the risk and vulnerability.

Speakers for the Day 1 were Dr Amir Ali Khan Associate Professor. NIDM GOI, Dr. S.S Randhawa  PSO HIMCOSTE and Vijay Singh, ICT Specialist & Navneet Yadav , Project Director. SDMA. Himachal Pradesh, who talked about Disaster Risk Reduction and safe hill area development.

45 Junior engineers, Master trainers, T&CB Coordinator Assistant engineers, Assistant Architect, Assistant Town Planner, Sr. Planning Draughtsman were present from different departments i.e Rural development, SDMA, TCP, HPPWD, UD & HIMUDA.

Sh. Gopal Jain, Scientific Officer, HIMCOSTE and Staff were also present.
