Traffic Restriction Notice: Chhotta Shimla to Oak Over Road Closed for Utility Work

Shimla, May 20, 2025 — In view of the ongoing work related to the laying of an underground utility duct, the road from Chhotta Shimla to Oak Over will remain closed to all vehicular traffic (except emergency services) from May 22 to June 8, 2025, as per an order issued by Anupam Kashyap, IAS, District Magistrate, Shimla.
The order has been issued following the recommendation of the Executive Engineer, Shimla Division No.III, HPPWD, and with inputs from the Superintendent of Police, Shimla. To facilitate smooth execution of the work and ensure public safety, alternative traffic routes have been designated.
Traffic Diversion Plan:
- All vehicles (except emergency services) will be restricted on Chhotta Shimla to Oak Over Road.
- General traffic will be diverted via Oak Over – Rahat Hotel – Chhotta Shimla, passing behind and below Raj Bhawan.
- HRTC Taxis will take the alternate route through Shilli Chowk – KNH – Himland – Tolland.
The executing agency has been instructed to take all necessary safety precautions, especially for pedestrians and school children, during the project duration.
