Three-Day National-Level Water Sports Festival to Be Held in Bilaspur from October 10–12

Bilaspur, Aug 28 : Bilaspur will host a grand three-day Water Sports Festival from October 10 to 12, 2025, aimed at boosting tourism and promoting water sports in the region. The festival will take place at Gobind Sagar Lake and Kol Dam, featuring national-level competitions and attracting athletes and tourists from across the country.
The event will be organized under the aegis of the Tourism, Sports, Trade, and Employment Generation Society. Main attractions include dragon boat races, kayaking, and canoeing competitions, with dragon boat races held between Luhnu Ground and Mandi Bharari Bridge in Gobind Sagar Lake, and kayaking and canoeing events at Kol Dam.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar, who chaired the preparatory meeting, stated that the natural beauty of the region, combined with these adventurous events, will help establish Bilaspur as a hub for water sports. The administration aims to not only promote tourism but also generate local employment through such events.
Committees will be formed, a dedicated budget allocated, and civil society, business associations, and volunteers will be involved to ensure the festival becomes a community celebration. The festival will also be given a unique name and logo.
