The decision of dissolution of HP staff selection commission evokes mixed reaction

1 min read

Hamirpur, Feb 21 – The decision of the HP government to dissolve the HP staff selection commission located at Hamirpur has evoked mixed reactions.
Earlier, the commission was suspended following the registration of criminal cases against its employees and others for getting jobs through corrupt means.
While Congress people have welcomed the government decision and termed it the right step to curb the growing corruption in the recruitment process, the BJP leaders have termed it as anti-employees and anti-people.
Notably, this commission was set up by the PK Dhumal-led government (1998-2003) as the HP service selection board. Later on, it was converted into the HP state staff service selection commission.
The officialdom of the commission became stunned when the government decision was announced to them through social media and official media. Employees of the Commission who were waiting for their promotions were taken aback and said that their fate now was doomed due to the new decision of the government. They were of the opinion that they should be allowed to work as part of HP public service commission as its regular employees after the merger of both institutions.
Meanwhile, the Chairman and other members of the Hamirpur-based commission who were without work since the suspension of its work were seen as ashen-faced.
However, one of them told that since the Commission was a constitutional body, he would approach the HP High court to get justice.
