THDCIL and SJVN Collaborate to Establish High-Performance Sports Academy in Tehri
1 min readRishikesh, April 26 : In a landmark agreement aimed at revolutionizing water sports development in India, THDC India Limited (THDCIL) and SJVN Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the THDCIL High-Performance Academy in Tehri Power Complex, Uttarakhand. The academy aims to elevate India’s presence in national and international sports arenas, particularly in kayaking and canoeing.
The ceremony, attended by senior officials from both organizations, highlighted the commitment to national development through sports excellence. Mr. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of THDCIL, emphasized the significance of this initiative in realizing the vision of a developed India.
The partnership signifies a collective effort to empower youth for international competitions, with a focus on providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and training facilities. SJVN Foundation’s financial support towards establishing an advanced gymnasium within the academy underscores the commitment to nurturing talent and promoting sports excellence.
The initiative, spearheaded by THDCIL’s not-for-profit society SEWA-THDC, is set to create a conducive environment for athletes to excel and represent India globally. With a duration of 12 months for completion, the project aims to set new benchmarks in sports infrastructure development, catalyzing India towards sporting excellence and global recognition.
