Shimla: Leader of the Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, criticized the Congress-led government under Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, holding them accountable for the current financial and administrative conditions in Himachal Pradesh. Thakur accused the Sukhu government of blaming the central government and the previous BJP regime for their failures while implementing policies that favor their associates over public welfare. He highlighted that during the BJP’s tenure, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, not a single employee’s salary was delayed or cut. In contrast, he alleged that the Sukhu government has dismantled several welfare schemes like Himcare and Sahara, causing distress among the public. Thakur also called out the government for its alleged mismanagement of finances, leading to increased taxes and reduced public benefits.
Additionally, Thakur condemned the remarks made about actress Kangana Ranaut in the assembly, labeling them as inappropriate and disrespectful. He emphasized that making such remarks against someone who is not present to defend themselves goes against the decorum of the house and demanded an apology from the minister involved.
