1 min read

Shimla, 8 May 2025 – Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Himachal Pradesh government has cancelled all leaves of doctors and paramedical staff. Those already on leave have been ordered to report back immediately. The decision follows a central advisory to all states urging preparedness for any medical emergencies.

Health authorities have been instructed to ensure 24/7 emergency services across hospitals. Arrangements for additional beds and deployment of specialist doctors in emergency wards are underway. Medical staff may be called in at any time.

Chief Minister’s principal media advisor, Naresh Chauhan, confirmed that directions have been given to maintain sufficient stock of medicines, oxygen, and other essentials. Special training sessions are also planned for healthcare workers to handle crisis situations. A high-level all-party meeting has been convened by the central government, with opposition leaders extending full support.
