Telescope inaugurated at Shoolini University by ‘Astrovers’ Club

Shoolini University marked a new beginning in student-led science and space exploration with the official launch of Astrovers, a new student space club focused on stargazing, astrophotography, and research.
The event began with an introduction to Astrovers by the student team. The club is led by Taranveer Kaur, with core members Arghya Pratim Ghosh and Kartikey Agarwal. As part of the club’s vision, a telescope was inaugurated to encourage sky observation and space-related activities. The skywatching session was led by Kartikey Agarwal, who guided students through their first telescope experience.
This initiative was made possible with the guidance and encouragement of Dr. Ashoo Khosla, Chief Learning Officer, and Prof. Neeraj Gandotra, Dean Student Welfare, along with his team members Vipul and Pooja Verma.
Certificates were awarded to students who participated in a recent asteroid research workshop. This workshop was held in collaboration with NASA and Supernova. The certificates were distributed by Prof. Neeraj Gandotra and Prof Saamdu Chetri, Director, Yogananda School of Spirituality and Happiness.
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the telescope, done by Prof. Neeraj Gandotra and Dr. Saamdu Chetri, creating a proud and memorable moment for everyone present. A short demonstration of the telescope followed, after which Kartikey Agarwal guided students in observing the night sky.
The evening ended with the announcement of upcoming events, including a stargazing night and an astrophotography competition.
