1 min read

Shimla, November 10, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap met principals of all government and private schools in Shimla, urging their support in combating the rising problem of drug abuse. He said the state-level Anti-Chitta Walkathon will be flagged off by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on November 15. The anti-drug campaign will run for three months, with active participation of students and achievers from various fields.

From November 16 to 30, district officials will visit all schools in Shimla to interact with students about the dangers of drugs. The DC stressed that no person involved in the chitta trade will be spared, and teachers must take extra responsibility by regularly guiding students—especially those in classes 8 to 12, who are more vulnerable.

Citizens can confidentially report drug-related information through the “Drug-Free Himachal” mobile app or via toll-free numbers 1908 and 14446.
