Target To Resuming Traffic on all Roads by September 15 – Vikramaditya
1 min readShimla, September 4: Himachal Pradesh has set a target of reopening and resuming traffic on all its roads by September 15. The Public Works Department (PWD) will hold weekly meetings with department officials. Orders have also been issued to officials to expedite bridge construction work.
PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh stated that the first phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) road projects could not be completed. These projects are progressing at a very slow pace and will now be accelerated. Many roads in Himachal Pradesh suffered significant damage due to disasters, and most of them have already been reopened.
Minister Vikramaditya Singh mentioned that 140 roads are still closed, which will be opened soon. The goal is to reopen all roads by September 15. If this target is not met, departmental action will be taken.
