State level cleanliness drive in Shahpur, message of cleanliness given by doing voluntary work with students
Shahpur, March 11.
Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania participated in the state-level cleanliness campaign organized by Government College Shahpur today at the school grounds in Shahpur. Around 200 college students enthusiastically participated in the campaign, spreading the message of cleanliness.
In his address on the occasion, Kewal Singh Pathania said that the main objective of such cleanliness campaigns is to increase public awareness about cleanliness. The government is also organizing such programs to promote responsibility and participation in cleanliness within society.
He said that it is very important to spread the message of cleanliness to every street and locality, especially in rural areas.
He called upon the NSS students not to limit the cleanliness campaign to programmes only, but to take it to their villages and homes.
After this, he did voluntary work by cleaning the Shahpur school ground along with the students and collected plastic waste.
At the event, NSS District Coordinator Dr. Keshav Kaushal welcomed the chief guest and provided information about NSS activities and the cleanliness campaign. He explained that the collected plastic waste will be sent to the plastic management unit in Sihuwan, where it will be scientifically disposed of and managed.
College Principal Dr. Vishwajeet expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Chief Whip for attending the event. He explained that due to the Deputy Chief Whip’s efforts, a vacant position in the college has recently been filled and orders for another position have also been issued, for which the college administration is grateful.
During this, students spread the message of cleanliness by collecting plastic waste from the Shahpur school grounds and surrounding areas. Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania also administered the cleanliness pledge to the students.
On this occasion, Principal of Government Excellent Senior Secondary School Shahpur Baljeet Diolia, Dr. Satish Thakur of the college, BEEO Minto Devi, Assistant Engineer Electricity Vikram Sharma, Assistant Engineer Water Power Razzaq Mohammad, Rajendra Manhas, Advisor to Deputy Chief Whip Vinay, college professors, Anganwadi workers and NSS students were present.
