Shimla, Feb 17: Former BJP State President and MP Suresh Kashyap has accused the Himachal Pradesh government of severe mismanagement, stating that the state is suffering due to stalled developmental projects.

Kashyap alleged that the Congress government falsely claimed to have sent a proposal for a biogas plant under the Waste-to-Energy Scheme to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. However, during the ongoing budget session in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State Shripad Naik clarified that no such proposal has been received by the Centre.

Under this scheme, the Centre provides ₹4 crore for a new biogas plant with a capacity of 4,800 kg per day and ₹3 crore for expanding an existing plant. Additionally, farmers receive a 50% subsidy on machinery for crop residue disposal.

Kashyap criticized the state government for failing to submit Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) on time, leading to missed funding opportunities. He accused the Congress government of lacking the will to work, which has resulted in stalled development projects and non-payment to contractors. He asserted that despite the Centre’s support, Himachal’s progress remains hindered due to the government’s inefficiency.
