Suresh Bhardwaj inaugurates Pro Himachal Premium Cricket League

Shimla. In order to promote sports in Himachal, the Welfare Sports Association started the first season of Pro Himachal Premium Cricket League. The tournament was inaugurated by Urban Development Minister, Suresh Bhardwaj at Woodville Palace. He appreciated the Welfare Supports Association and assured all assistance from the government to the tornament. During this Rajesh Sharma, Director Youth Services and Supports, OP Sharma Coordinator Drug Prevention Board, Karthikeyan Gokulchandran SP Vigilance, Sakshi Verma IPS and Counselor Kimi Sood were present and complimented organizers. A star night was also organised with Himachal’s famous artists AC Bhardwaj and Kuldeep Sharma.

At the beginning of the tournament, 16 franchise’s from Himachal participated in the players’ auction. Around 750 players applied out of which about 250 were selected. Welfare Sports Association members Veenu Diwan, Kranti Thakur, Sumit Sehgal and Abhay Thakur told that the winners of this game will be given prizes of up to 10 lakhs. Talented players from different states of India have also participated in this game. He also informed that this is the first of its kind competition which is being held in Himachal. The tournament will be played with a white leather ball. Many industrialists and eminent people of the state have sponsored and Sound Visionary Media is the publicity partner of Welfare Association in this competition. A team from Bombay has been called for the live telecast of the complete tournament.
