Superintendent of Police vehicle’s Hit-and-Run Incident Raises Concerns

Mandi, September 6: A government vehicle belonging to the Superintendent of Police, Mandi, was involved in a hit-and-run incident with a scooter rider. The incident occurred on the 28th of the previous month, but the police have not made any progress in the case so far. The injured victim’s wife has now turned to the media, sharing CCTV footage and demanding justice.
According to available information, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Mandi was traveling from Mandi to Pandoh in his official government vehicle (HP 33E 3175) driven by HPSI Baldev. While overtaking a bus near Sauli Khadd, the government vehicle collided with a scooter (HP 33F 4041) approaching from the opposite direction, severely injuring the rider, Yashwant from Thachi. Yashwant was immediately taken to the hospital, and later, he was referred to PGIMER Chandigarh.
SP Mandi, Soumya Sambhshivan, stated that a case has been registered against driver Baldev under IPC Sections 279 and 337, and he has been summoned for questioning. The FSL team has collected all evidence from the scene, and CCTV footage is also under investigation. Legal action is being taken in accordance with the law.
