Causes Over 30 Lakh Rupees in Damages
Late at night in the Harabag area of Sundarnagar on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, a general store caught fire due to a sudden short circuit, resulting in significant losses exceeding 30 lakh rupees for the store owner, Jageshwar Singh.
According to information, on Monday evening, a sudden short circuit caused a fire at the Lucky General Store in the Harabag area. Upon receiving the information, the fire brigade rushed to the scene to control the fire. However, by the time the fire brigade gained control, everything had turned into ashes.
Meanwhile, administrative officials also reached the spot upon receiving the news and assessed the situation. MLA Rakesh Jamwal also visited the site upon learning about the incident and evaluated the circumstances. He assured all possible assistance to the affected shopkeeper.
On the other hand, Sub-Divisional Officer Sundarnagar, Girish Samra, stated that a considerable loss occurred due to the fire. The concerned patwari has been directed to prepare a report on the losses incurred and submit it for further action.
