Sundar Thakur Accuses Rajendra Rana and Sudhir Sharma of Political Drama

Solan, March 19, 2024 – Sundar Thakur, the Chief Parliamentary Secretary, has dismissed the threatening letter received by rebel leaders Rajendra Rana and Sudhir Sharma as mere political theatrics. Targeting the rebels, Thakur asserted that the true colors of both individuals have been exposed before the people of the state, hence resorting to drama to divert attention.

Thakur highlighted that Rajendra Rana, Sudhir Sharma, and all six rebel MLAs contested the assembly elections on the Congress party’s symbol and are now acting as puppets of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). These rebels conspired to overthrow the democratically elected government by aligning with the BJP and voted against the Congress party’s Rajya Sabha candidate. Now, they fear facing the people of the state and are fleeing from one state to another.

He emphasized that the rebels are well aware that the people of Himachal Pradesh do not forgive opportunistic politics as it goes against the ethos of the state. Despite being honored by the Congress party with positions as legislators and serving the people of the state in various capacities, the rebels betrayed the party’s trust. Therefore, they are resorting to false threats to divert the attention of the people. The truth is that the rebels have pledged their allegiance to the BJP, failing to address the concerns of the state’s people.

Thakur highlighted the strides taken by the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. He mentioned that a new chapter of public service is being written, with schemes being formulated for the welfare of the poor, farmers, women, and employees, among others. Despite the short tenure of the present government, five out of the ten electoral promises have already been fulfilled, with efforts underway to fulfill the remaining assurances. Thakur warned that the people of the state would certainly teach a lesson to the conspirators trying to destabilize the committed Congress government. He reiterated that the Congress party is ready to confront every conspiracy and will complete its full five-year term in office.
