Shimla, Aug. 1 , 2025:
BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government, mocking the recent move to start a lottery system in the state. “Instead of providing 1 lakh promised government jobs, the Congress regime is pushing the youth towards lotteries,” said Bindal, sarcastically stating that the new slogan should be “Le Lo Sukhvinder Ki Lottery Le Lo.”
He accused the government of promoting a culture of liquor, drugs, and gambling, claiming liquor vends have come up on PWD land, while small vendors are penalized for selling crops. He further branded the Sukhvinder Sukhu-led government as oppressive, citing politically motivated FIRs, transfers, and sedition charges—specifically highlighting false cases filed in Sirmaur and Thunag, where 72 individuals were allegedly booked under sedition during a disaster.
Bindal announced that the BJP will stage a massive protest in Mandi on August 6 to oppose these “anti-people policies.” He also questioned the state government’s utilization of central disaster relief funds, stating only ₹150 crore has been spent from the state’s disaster head despite the Centre releasing ₹7513 crore since 2022.
