Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s Government Will Complete Full Term, Says Sanjay Awasthi

2 min read

Shimla, June 8: Pradesh Congress Committee’s Working President and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi stated that the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government in the state will firmly complete its full term. He emphasized that the results of the six by-elections clearly indicate that public opinion in the state is overwhelmingly in favor of the Congress.

Awasthi remarked that the people of the state have given a strong response to the BJP’s conspiracies in these six assembly by-elections. He alleged that the BJP attempted to destabilize the Congress government in the state by engaging in horse-trading involving six Congress MLAs and jeopardizing the political future of three independent MLAs. He expressed confidence that Congress will also emerge victorious in the upcoming three by-elections.

Awasthi criticized the BJP’s failed campaign of achieving 400 seats at the center, stating that the tactics used by the BJP to win the elections were apparent to everyone. He mentioned that despite intimidating opposition leaders, incarcerating them, and freezing Congress accounts, the BJP could not reach the 400-mark.

Taking a dig at former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Awasthi condemned his frequent statements suggesting that the Congress government in the state is temporary, calling these remarks completely unacceptable and disrespectful to public mandate. He affirmed that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has the majority and that this majority is likely to increase in the future. He added that the BJP’s conspiracies have failed and will continue to fail, ensuring that the Congress government under Chief Minister Sukhu’s leadership remains strong and stable.
