Sukhu Govt Turning Himachal ‘On Sale’ Through Township Plans: Jairam Thakur

1 min read

Shimla, Dec 31: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur accused the Sukhu government of persistently attempting to “sell Himachal” under the guise of modern township projects. He alleged that large tracts of land in Shitalpur (BBN area) and parts of Sirmaur district are being earmarked for townships to benefit select builders, warning of massive corruption and serious ecological damage.

Thakur claimed that panchayats are being pressured to issue NOCs and that valuable land is being transferred first to HIMUDA and then to private builders. He said the BJP is not opposed to development, but criticised the government for planning projects that allegedly prioritise private gain over public interest and environmental balance.

On the occasion of the New Year, Jairam Thakur extended his greetings to the people of Himachal Pradesh, wishing them peace, prosperity, and new opportunities, and expressed hope that the coming year would bring stability and collective progress for the state.
