Sukhu Govt Misleading People with Paper Decisions: Suresh Kashyap

Shimla:
BJP State President and MP Suresh Kashyap strongly criticized the Sukhu-led Congress government following the cabinet meeting, reacting to statements made by a Congress minister. He alleged that the government is trying to hide its failures by confusing the public with big announcements, lengthy agendas, and impressive figures, while ground-level implementation remains zero.
Kashyap said that simply counting 50+ cabinet agendas does not prove successful governance. The real test, he added, is visible work on the ground—where the government has completely failed.
He questioned decisions related to creating posts in medical colleges, opening cancer departments, recruiting technical staff, and increasing the age limit for nurses, stating that while such decisions sound good, the government must answer for the poor condition of health institutions, shortage of doctors, and increasing patient hardships over the past two years. He also pointed out that many previously sanctioned posts have remained vacant for years.
On the revenue department, Kashyap said the backlog of cases and shortage of tehsildars and patwaris reflects administrative failure. He claimed that the decision to reappoint retired employees is proof that the government has failed to make timely recruitments. Had permanent hiring been done earlier, such temporary measures would not be needed.
He further targeted the government over projects like air connectivity, zipline initiatives, hydro projects, and geothermal energy, saying these have remained only on paper for years. He asked how the government plans to fund such projects when the state is already burdened under heavy debt, and when the public will actually benefit.
Raising concerns on social security pensions, Anganwadi/creche workers, and industrial policy, Kashyap said the government is only talking about expansions and amendments, while issues like delayed payments, uncertainty, and unemployment remain unchanged.
He also criticized the government’s unclear stand on panchayat elections, Disaster Act decisions, and administrative confusion, alleging that the government is avoiding clarity despite references to High Court directions.
Kashyap concluded by saying that the Congress government’s decisions are limited to press releases, and unless they are implemented in a time-bound manner, they remain merely a show. He added that the BJP will continue exposing these failures before the people.
