Sukhu Govt Anti-Women in Practice: BJP Mahila Morcha President Daisy Thakur

Shimla, Oct 28 : BJP Mahila Morcha State President Daisy Thakur alleged that CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has repeatedly betrayed women’s trust and is crushing their rights through government decisions. She said the move to extend the term of Shimla Mayor and Deputy Mayor to five years is a direct attack on democratic rights and women’s reservation, accusing the CM of altering the roster to protect his close associate in the Mayor’s position.

She added that Congress earlier misled women with false promises, including ₹1500 per month, and now has snatched their rightful claim to the Mayor post by manipulating the roster. Thakur also stated that despite having women MLAs, the Sukhu government has not included a single woman in the cabinet in three years, showing its mindset that sees women only as a vote bank and not equal partners.

She said BJP Mahila Morcha will launch a state-wide campaign demanding protection of women’s constitutional rights and reservation.
