Sukhu Government Spreading Rumors Against Sanatan: Sukhram

1 min read

Shimla, March 4 – BJP leader and former Energy Minister Sukhram Chaudhary accused the Sukhu government of spreading rumors against the Sanatan tradition. He alleged that the Congress-led government is continuing its anti-Sanatan stance and misleading people regarding temple funds.

Chaudhary emphasized that the BJP government had never sought temple funds for any government schemes. He highlighted that during Jai Ram Thakur’s tenure, a provision was introduced in the Himachal Pradesh Public Religious Institution and Charitable Endowments Act, ensuring 15% of temple income was allocated for cow shelters. He criticized the current government for distorting facts and conspiring against Hindu traditions.

He further stated that under BJP rule, the number of cows in shelters increased from 6,400 to 22,000, and 220 new cow shelters were established. The government also provided ₹700 per cow for maintenance, along with ₹47 crore for nine cow sanctuaries.

Chaudhary also accused Chief Minister Sukhu of failing to fulfill his budget promise of increasing cow shelter aid from ₹700 to ₹1,200, claiming that funds were wasted on publicity instead. He urged the CM to clarify his stance on cow welfare and Sanatan traditions.
