Sudhir Sharma Raises Privilege Breach Notice Again

Shimla, August 26, 2025 – BJP MLA from Dharamshala, Sudhir Sharma, once again raised the issue of privilege breach in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, stating that under rules, the matter will be brought before the Privilege Committee if not dismissed by the Speaker.

He alleged that false statements and figures presented inside the House cannot be justified, as the issue concerns unemployed youth of the state. Referring to the CM’s announcement regarding enhancement of discretionary grants to ₹1 lakh, Sharma said the promise was not fulfilled despite being made on record in the Assembly.

Taking a dig at the government, he questioned the very purpose of Question Hour and Assembly Sessions if accurate information is not provided, adding that “it would be better to seek information through RTI than asking questions in the House.”
