Arki, December 20, 2025:
Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi emphasised the importance of students internalising the foundational elements of education to confidently meet future challenges. He was addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony at Government Senior Secondary School, Lagdaghat.

Awasthi also inaugurated three newly constructed classrooms, built at a cost of nearly ₹30 lakh. Encouraging students to prioritise understanding over rote learning, he highlighted that digital resources and mobile technology, when used wisely, can play a transformative role in learning.

He advised parents to maintain regular communication with their children, noting that dialogue can help prevent drug abuse.

Awasthi said the state government, under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has introduced major reforms in the education system, including the establishment of Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools to provide world-class learning opportunities and nurture hidden talent.

He shared that ₹8 crore has been sanctioned for the Lagdaghat–Soon road project, with tendering to begin shortly. He announced ₹4.5 lakh for the construction of a school examination hall, ₹21,000 for the organising committee, and ₹5,100 for students.

The MLA also reviewed public grievances under the ‘Vidhayak Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme and instructed departments to ensure timely redressal.
