Students gain first-hand legal insights during Lok Adalat visit

The students of LLB and BALLB Faculty of Legal Sciences, Shoolini University had an enriching opportunity to witness the proceedings of the Lok Adalat at the District Court, Solan.
The visit provided valuable insights into the functioning of the alternative dispute resolution system and its pivotal role in ensuring swift and amicable dispute settlements.
During the session, students observed the resolution of various disputes, including property matters, family disputes, consumer cases, labor disputes, and challan cases. This real-world exposure enhanced their understanding of practical legal proceedings beyond traditional classroom learning.
The educational visit was coordinated by Mr. Vineet Kumar, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Legal Sciences, Shoolini University.
Dr. Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean, School of Law, played a crucial role in facilitating the visit, ensuring students gained first-hand exposure to the operational framework of the Lok Adalat.
During the proceedings, students had the privilege of observing distinguished judicial officers in action, including Mr. Arvind Malhotra (District and Sessions Judge), Mr. Vivek Khanal (Additional District and Sessions Judge), and Mr. Mehul Sharma (Judicial Magistrate). The judges encouraged students to adopt a practical approach to legal learning and understand the significance of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Adding to the experience, students had an insightful interaction with Justice Trilok Singh Chauhan, Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Justice Chauhan shared valuable insights into legal practice, judicial processes, and the responsibilities of future legal professionals.
In another impactful engagement, students interacted with Advocate Manoj Verma, former President of the Solan Bar Association, who provided deep perspectives on courtroom advocacy and the evolving legal landscape.
In a gesture of social commitment, some students contributed to the Red Cross Society, Solan, to mark International Women’s Day.
