Shimla, October 25, 2025 — The Department of Language and Culture organized a special storytelling session under the series “Ek Samay Ki Baat Hai” at the historic Gaiety Theatre’s Conference Hall, aiming to nurture creativity among the youth and connect them with their folk traditions.
Noted writer Anurag Parashar narrated short folk tales titled Avasarvadita, Mohak Sanskar, and Vyavaharikta to students from GSSS Lakkar Bazaar and GHS Krishnanagar, emphasizing patience, moral values, respect for elders, and the importance of good conduct. He also encouraged students to read works of eminent Indian storytellers and contribute their writings to school magazines.
Students interacted actively, asking questions on writing techniques and how to develop as creative writers.
Adding to the cultural charm, students of St. Edward’s School presented a musical band performance, entertaining hundreds of visitors with a mix of folk, patriotic, and popular songs.
Director Reema Kashyap shared that similar storytelling sessions are being organized every weekend across districts including Una, Solan, and Bilaspur.
