“Step Out of Facebook Politics”: Bikram Thakur Targets Vikramaditya Singh Over PWD Performance
1 min read
Shimla: Former minister and MLA Bikram Thakur launched a sharp attack on PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, accusing him of indulging in “social media-driven politics” instead of focusing on governance.
Thakur alleged that the minister is attempting to stay in the spotlight through statements and online activity, rather than addressing ground-level issues. He said that criticism from within the ruling party itself reflects concerns over the functioning of the Public Works Department.
Referring to recent Assembly proceedings, he claimed that questions raised by ruling party MLAs highlighted gaps in departmental performance, and alleged that the minister avoided direct जवाब in the House.
He further raised concerns over road conditions, pending works in disaster-affected areas, delays in payments to contractors, and alleged irregularities in tender processes. According to him, these issues point towards administrative challenges within the department.
Targeting the broader governance narrative, Thakur said development in the state has largely been supported by central assistance under Narendra Modi, while questioning the current government’s execution on the ground.
He urged the minister to focus on governance and maintain the decorum of public life, stating that political discourse should remain constructive and aligned with public interest.
