Steel valley bridge collapses due to overloaded truck impact on delipidated bridge in Shimla

Shimla/Nahan, Apr 25 – A Steel Vally Bridge connecting Nahan in Sirmaur district with Renukaji and Sangrah in Himachal Pradesh collapsed under the impact of overloaded truck last night snapping road communications between Renuka and Nahan in this state .
The information arriving here said built about sixty years ago Danoi bridge in the district could not withstand a overloaded truck crossing over it and collapsed last Monday night.
The incident snapped the road communication of Kupvi area of Shimla district including Sangrah and Haripurdhar to district headquarters Nahan.
Report confirmed by the district administration said accident happened late at night while an overloaded trolley was passing over the bridge. The Truck fell into the ravine due to the breaking of the valley bridge. The driver suffered injuries in the accident. The injured person has been admitted to Civil Hospital Dadahu with the help of people.
According to the information, at 2100 hrs on Monday when a powder-laden truck (HP 71-1187) was passing through the bridge that suddenly the bridge broke down. Driver Jaiprakash (38) is a resident of Bharayan of Sandhar area, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital. It is being told that the bridge was in a dilapidated condition for a long time. Instead of taking care of it, the department was repeatedly repairing and plastering it. Due to the collapse of the bridge, long queues of vehicles started on both sides of the Renuka-Sangdah road.
The accident left 40 gram panchayat of Renuka ji assembly constituency cut off from Nahan. The officials of Public Works department and police rushed to the spot and diverted vehicular traffic Vehicular traffic through an alternative Route from Jarg-Khud Drabil-Koti Dhiman-Khalakyar. No loss of life occurred in the incident.
