State-Level Hockey Competition to Take Place at Thodo Ground from September 8

In Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district, a state-level hockey competition will be held from September 8th to 10th at Thodo Maidan. This three-day event will see the participation of 200 male and female athletes from 14 teams across the state. Pankaj Gupta, the organizer, mentioned that this is the second time the state-level hockey competition is being organized in Solan. The inauguration will be conducted by Health Minister Dr. Dhaniram Shandil on Friday at 11:30 AM.
During the closing ceremony, Sports Minister Vikramaditya Singh will felicitate the winners. The winning team in both the women’s and men’s categories will receive a prize of 21,000 rupees, while the runners-up will receive 11,000 rupees, along with trophies. Teams from Sirmaur, Mandi, Bilaspur, Kangra, and Hamirpur have already arrived in Solan for the competition. Solan Hockey Club has been providing free coaching to youth for the past four years to promote hockey, with 55 young players actively practicing daily.
